VINE, GLASS, TABLE
a monthly newsletter
September 26
Dear fellow wine enthusiast,
I hope you are well and ready for the start of Fall! As many of you know, I travel quite a bit for business and have the opportunity to see and experience interesting trends and happenings in the world of wine and food. A growing and welcoming trend I am seeing is the increasing number of premium wines by the glass selections in more and more wine bars and restaurants. These are often presented as a "Coravin pour," where 2-4 ounces are offered. These pours present an opportunity to enjoy great wines where you may not have otherwise. They also present the chance to have a special wine (high quality or unusual) if you were just planning on having one glass. So be on the lookout over the next few months when you find yourself looking at a restaurant's wine list!
Please enjoy this month's blog about in-store tastings and the other offerings in this newsletter. We hope to have you in a class soon.
Stay curious, everyone!

SEPTEMBER BLOG
"Taste, Learn, Interact, Purchase…"
In-store tastings can have it all
One of the great opportunities to learn about wine is often very accessible and available at a wine store near you… in-store tastings! That said, not all in-store tastings are created equal. The best opportunities to learn and experience at a higher level are when you have the opportunity to attend a winemaker or vintner-hosted event. This gives you access to “the source” or person intimately involved in the winery’s history, its wines, terroir, and different vintages. READ MORE

SEPTEMBER WINE DISCOVERY - a monthly feature of a wine we're excited about
2024 Schloss Gobelsburg Kamptal Gruner Veltliner
Extremely fragrant with whiffs of juicy mirabelle plum and physalis. So seductive and openly expressive with a pleasant filigree touch. Compact yet lively and robust. Fine stone fruit notes. Layers of subtle undertones and a nice racy finish. This is a perfect end-of-summer wine that has depth, spice, savoriness, and great acidity.
The Zwettl Monastery was founded in 1074, and in 1171 the Monks of Zwettl were granted their first vineyards: Heiligenstein & Gaisberg–the oldest documented sites in the Kamptal. The estate and Castle Gobelsburg were controlled by as many as 19 different families between 1074 and 1740, and in 1786 absorbed the famous Kammern Winery and vineyards. Two hundred years later, Eva and Michael Moosbrugger were granted the winemaking and viticultural contract in 1996, and with the help and guidance of Michael’s mentor, Willi Bründlmayer, the winery has regained its prestige and is considered to be a leader in quality and innovation.
PURCHASE THIS WINE HERE - We work closely with Central Wine Merchants, our favorite local wine shop in Flemington, NJ, to source the wines for all our classes.
