Wine Class Dinners

wine education, in a more intimate and immersive setting

about our classes

focusing on terroir’s influence on the great grape varieties of the world

OUR BLIND TASTING FORMAT

Each class highlights a single grape variety, which allows us to take a deep dive into each grape variety and discover its different iterations made around the world. Our favorite element of these classes is that we hold them in a blind tasting format! During the class, you will not know the producer, vintage, or region the wines are from… only the grape variety. Each class is dedicated to teaching you about the 5 regions our featured grape variety is most commonly produced in, and how the terroir in each region affects the wine’s outcome.

THE REVEAL - At the end of class, we will guess the region each wine was from, pulling from what we learned about each of the regions. This refreshed format will be an active and engaging way to learn more about the wine we already know and love!

Our live, in-person Wine Class Dinners are hosted at the beautiful Golden Pheasant Inn in Erwinna, PA.

Make the night extra special by booking a night at the Inn after our class!

our 2026 classes

May 27 - Merlot

registration opens April 15 at 4pm EST

Merlot is one of the most important red grape varieties in the world of wine. Its origins stem from the Bordeaux region, where it is responsible for some of the finest wines from the Right Bank, where it is often blended with Cabernet Franc, and on the Left Bank, where it serves as a key blending grape variety, supporting Cabernet Sauvignon. It is also widely planted in top wine regions around the world, making outstanding wines. Its calling card is a plushness and soft red and black fruit core that proves the intensity of fruit in the wines made from it. No other grape produces wines as a lead grape and supporting grape. In this class, we will explore its many expressions and experience why it makes wines that we should be enjoying regularly. We will feature 5 examples of great Merlot from Sonoma, Italy, Bordeaux, Washington State, and Chile.

tips for easy registration...

Our Wine Class Dinners have a history of selling out very quickly; if you are hoping to join us for a class, we recommend taking the following steps to get registered.

  • Put the registration time (4pm EST) on your calendar or set an alarm. If you are on our Wine Class Dinners email list, you will receive an email that we send out at 4pm, but we suggest taking this extra step in the event that the email takes some time to get to your inbox.

  • Have this page open on your phone or computer and ready to refresh at 4pm EST.

  • If you're planning to go with others as a group, we recommend designating one person to register for everyone to ensure your whole party can get in.
